However, the game also has a few distinct Smash Bros-esque "tiers" to it from god-like, to decent (most other speeds lie here), to mediocre (a lot of agility-class, and maybe AG-S Fighter), to terrible (most other fighters), to bottom of the barrel (Auricom Prototype, Pir-Hana Prototype unless you're even more perfect than it desrves, and, strangely enough, Qirex Prototype). Obviously, FEISAR Speed, AG Systems Speed, and sometimes FEISAR Prototype are the top picks in 2048, and will usually be picked first. However, this is only the very surface of the issue: even if these two culprits are completely annihilated, there's still plenty of work to do. In 2048, if you aren't FEISAR or AG-Systems Speed, you're gonna lose. In HD, you can literally fly whoever you want to and do just fine against anyone else provided you have the skill. The more I play 2048, the more and more I realize how absolutely terrible the ship balance is, to the point that there's no point in taking anything but 2 if the game's ships, FEISAR and AG-S Speed, maybe FEISAR Prototype on a particularly pad-heavy map like Capital Reach.Ĭompare this to HD, where even the two obvious "best" ships, Icaras Fury and Van Uber, struggle to maintain anything better than first place in time trials, much less single race someone has rank 3 in FEISAR Fury on Vineta K Forward, I'm managing consistently fast ranks on most tracks in Mirage HD, Goteki HD and Triakis Fury, and in single race the leaderboards are even more ridiculously varied.
